The Solar System: Play-Doh Planets

Task Description

We will use play-doh to make a scale model of the solar system. This will help us understand the different sizes of the planets in our solar system. We will be able to compare the size of Earth with other planets. You can do the activity by yourself or with partners. 

Instructions

1) Click on the image of the solar system above. 
2) Read the information about making - Play-Doh Planets.
3) Prepare the resources for the activity:
  • A copy of the Activity Instructions (see below).
  • Tubs of play-doh.
  • Planet name cards to put next to the planets (you can copy names from the image above).
  • A ruler or piece of stiff card to cut the play-doh.
4) Click on the Activity Instructions.   
5) Make your solar system!
